The CROS3 Coaching Approach
Client-centered development with a shared CROS3 approach.
Coaching is development-centered and client-owned. CROS3 uses the Consulting C™ as a shared seven-phase approach when a client is working from meaningful direction toward responsible action. Coaching and consulting remain distinct professional contexts, not separate methodologies. Practitioners offer encouragement, guidance, questions, structure, and accountability; clients retain ownership of decisions and action.
Review the current contact postureFor individuals
Life, professional, transition, and goal-achievement work can benefit from a deliberate space to distinguish the presenting issue from the direction that matters most.
For suitable small groups
Small-group development can help participants make commitments visible, navigate tension with respect, and focus attention on work that should endure without treating a group as a scaled program.
One shared approach, different contexts: The Consulting C™ remains intact through coaching: CLARIFY → COMPREHEND → CONSTRUCT → CONTRACT → COMMIT → CONDUCT → CLOSE. CLOSE can complete or close an agreed operating period or process even when client-defined outcomes are still in progress. When a client chooses to continue working toward a valid but unfinished direction, Rolling O™ returns to COMPREHEND; it is not an eighth phase.
A pace that fits the work
Enough understanding for the next useful decision.
Coaching develops enough shared understanding to support the next responsible decision without demanding every detail at once or moving ahead on important unanswered questions.
The pace, depth, documentation, and accountability should fit the work. That does not remove phases or treat unfinished work as finished. When a material question or condition remains unresolved, the work stays with the phase that can address it or returns there for review.
Clients retain ownership of decisions and action. Practitioners support reflection, progress review, and adjustment without making the client’s choices for them.

Client agency, practical reflection, and responsible action.
CROS3 favors honest conversation, clear boundaries, client agency, practical reflection, and evidence that helps a person recognize what is changing. Coaching is not therapy, clinical treatment, counseling, legal advice, financial advice, or a substitute for licensed professional support that a situation requires.
